Founded 65 years ago, the world-famous choir has achieved exceptional success by recreating the richness and beauty of the authentic Bulgarian folklore. The incredible singers are conquering the audience with the purity of their singing, the complex polyphonic score, the brilliant sound and the rhythm of the songs. Compositions and arrangements of the most famous Bulgarian composers have been selected to be part of the choir’s program over the years.
The amazing triumph of the Mystery of the Bulgarian Voices around the world is also due to their conductor Dora Hristova, who has been leading the ensemble since the beginning. The choir has had hundreds of concerts in Europe, Asia, America and Africa, has released several solo albums and took part in prestigious international events with world-renowned singers and instrumentalists.
Camellia Todorova’s singing career has been going on for nearly 40 years, she has an excellent vocal technique and unique style and talent. Camellia has been working with the best Bulgarian and foreign musicians and has won prestigious international competitions. She has been invited to many festivals, show programs and significant art forums in Europe, Asia and America, which brought her world recognition.
Orlin Pavlov is a singer with fascinating artistic presence on stage and rich repertoire of pop and jazz hits. He is the favorite performer not only to the young audience. There have been successful long-term projects with the best Bulgarian musicians - Jivko Petrov, Angel Zaberski,etc. In 2014 he made his first musical tour in the US - New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas etc.
Romeo and Juliet is the most recent production of Arabesque Ballet Company, which will have a special performance in Apollonia 2017. Combining William Shakespeare’s tragic tale of star-crossed lovers and the music of Sergey Prokofiev with the ideas of contemporary choreographic quests, the performance offers new, totally different version of the ballet.
It puts the question of the good and the evil and the place of man in the universe. The show will open the 50th anniversary season of the company in Sofia.
One of the most iconic groups of contemporary Bulgarian pop and rock music, in Sozopol they will present the songs from their latest album. The audience will meet again with their favorite musicians: Stefan Valdobrev - actor, composer, author of texts, film and theatre director, and the Usual Suspects consisting of: rock legend Ivan Lechev, violinist and guitarist, Stoyan Yankulov, renowned drummer and percussionist, Veselin Veselinov-Eko, the most famous Bulgarian bass player, member of jazz, rock and pop bands and the guitar star of the new generation Miroslav Ivanov.

Tonight, Apollonia Amphitheater in Sozopol will be the center of the greatest event of the festival‘s classical program. The Double Concert for Guitar, Bandoneon and String Orchestra by Astor Piazzola will be premiered on Bulgarian stage. Performers include the world-famous Chamber Ensemble Sofia Soloists under Maestro Plamen Djouroff and two outstanding musicians invited in Sozopol for this concert.
There will also be a world premiere of the Concert for Accordion and String Orchestra, written for Apollonia by the young, most talented Bulgarian composer Peter Kerkelov.
An exciting concert-spectacle that has its star - the amazing Lucy Dyakovska. She will take Apollonia's audience to the magic world of the musical with the unforgettable hits of West Side Story, Jesus Christ Superstar, Cabaret, Hair, Chicago, Cats, and many others.
Lucy Dyakovska is one of the most attractive and popular Bulgarian performers, her outstanding voice, artistry and nonstop energy on stage are the sign of her starry career. She is a member of the famous German pop band New Angels, she is also the author of many successful songs and a producer.
Apollonia Amphitheater will meet Lili Ivanova days before the start of her national tour. She will be accompanied by her musicians: Ognyan Enev (piano, trumpet, saxophone), Veselin Veselinov-Eco (bass guitar and bass), Angel Dyulgerov (guitar and violin), Rossen Vatev (drums), Orlin Tsvetanov (violin) and LaTiDa (back vocals).
The audience will enjoy some of Lili Ivanova's recent songs, part of the album that came out on June, 2017.
Thirteen years ago, Rushi Vidinliev came to Apollonia to present his first musical performance Independent, created for the 20th anniversary of the festival. Rushi is one of the most popular pop artists in Bulgaria at the beginning of the new century. In co-production with various musicians he has written songs for Bulgarian performers, who became hits. As an actor, he participates in Bulgarian and foreign film productions. For the lead role in the Chameleon's Color, he received the Best Actor Award from the Bulgarian Film Academy, as well as many other prestigious awards.
Vasil Petrov is a frequent guest in Apollonia. His impressive voice, exceptional stage presence and charm have made him one of the favorite artists of the audience in Sozopol. He is the winner of Apollo Toxophoros Award, given by Apollonia Foundation for an outstanding contribution to Bulgarian culture.
Vassil Petrov dedicated this concert to the seven-time Grammy winner Al Jarreau, considered one of the best jazz singers of our time.
In 2001 Ensemble Chinary won the public admiration in the Silver Dollar Cityest World-Fest, which is the most prestigious and largest international folk forum in the United States. After this great success the ensemble received many invitations to participate in festivals and folklore events both in Bulgaria and abroad. The art of Chinary was highly appreciated by the Italian audience during the 2011 Bulgarian Culture Days in Italy.
For his professionalism Ensemble Chinary was awarded by the Union of Artists in Bulgaria and the Union of Bulgarian Musicians and Dancers.
